The Dolby Atmos system has been creating a 3D aural experience in theaters since June 2012. Now the company that brought us surround sound is bringing its object-based audio experience into the home and on mobile devices.Many devices already come with specific hardware and preinstalled Dolby atmos music equalizer inbuilt in their system Like Sony, HTC, Lenovo etc

 

Prerequisites

  • Your Android Oreo device must have TWRP recovery installed.
  • Take a Nandroid backup of your current ROM.
    • Boot into TWRP.
    • Go to “Backup” menu and swipe the “Swipe to Backup” button.
  • Charge your phone to atleast 50-60% battery level to avoid any disruptions during the process.
Once your have fulfilled the requirements, follow the instructions below to install Dolby Atmos on Android Oreo.

Instructions:

  • Performing a backup of the /system partition in recovery is encouraged for users receiving a /system installation:

    • TWRP > Backup > Check System > Edit name, if desired > Swipe to perform backup operation
  • Confirm device requirements are met and installation results are acceptable.
  • Confirm an escape route is available in the event of unsuccessful device boot or unsatisfactory experience.
  • Confirm successful download and location of downloaded archive(s).
  • Boot to recovery > Install > *.zip > Swipe to perform installation operation > Advanced > Copy Log > Reboot
  • Updating procedure is no different unless specified otherwise.
