how to install google pixel camera in android phone

This is all thanks to XDA Senior Member Arnova8G2 who has modified and optimized the original work of Ukrainian developer B-S-G and XDA Senior Member Charles_l to bring portrait mode to nearly all devices that can already make use of HDR+ in the modified Google Camera app. Users on our forums have been testing it out, and you can now too! It seems to work rather well on supported devices, but keep in mind that the portrait mode effect only works on people.

My Google Camera Recommended Settings for Snapdragon 820/821 Devices

This isn’t all, either. Since we’ve last reported on the Google Camera HDR+ port, we’ve also seen the camera quality slowly increase along with the stability of the app itself. Here are my settings down below. These settings are for the OnePlus 3 but should push you in the right direction for configuring it for your own device.

As can be seen, as well, there are a number of advanced features including a toggle for using either portrait mode or lens blur. There is also the option to take a RAW photo or compress RAW photos, while also taking a regular photo too. Zero Shutter Lag (ZSL) should also be enabled if it can be for the settings that you choose.

Features

• HDR+ - Take pictures using HDR+ to capture fantastic photos, especially in low-light or backlit scenes.
• Video Stabilization - Capture exceptionally smooth videos even if your hands shake.
• Smartburst - Hold down the shutter button to automatically capture a stream of photos and make moving GIFs.
• Photo sphere - Create immersive spherical photos.
• Lens Blur - Add elegant background blur (bokeh) to close-up pictures.
• Slow Motion - Capture action in epic slow motion video (up to 240fps on some supported devices).

Requirements - The latest version of Google Camera only works on recent Nexus and Pixel devices on Android 7.1.1 and above. Some features are not available on all devices.

Permissions

• Camera: Required in order to capture pictures and videos.
• Location: Required in order to add location information to pictures.
• Microphone: Required in order to record audio with every video.
• Storage: Required in order to save picture and videos.

And that’s not all, but users who previously could not record in 4K video resolution might be able to now, so long as their device supports it. This solidifies the Google Camera port as a full replacement for your stock camera application so long as your phone can make use of all of its features. Your device will need to support the Camera2 API, which has been problematic for those on devices such as the ZTE Axon 7 which does not support it (but can be enabled if your device is rooted).

This is done by editing build.prop to add or enable "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1".

Note:
This mod only adds camera2api support in the build.prop systemlessly. This does not guarantee modded google camera hdr+ will work on your device.

MGCB_7.0H_C2API_Mid_v.3.6_AllinOne_Full_Manual.apk

Requirements:

  • Android 5.0 & up
  • Magisk v15
  • ~2014+ Snapdragon SoCs

Instruction:

Add the zip in Magisk Manager -> Modules and reboot.Or you could also flash it in your custom recovery, TWRP etc.

How to check if it is running:

1. Open terminal and issue command "getprop | grep camera".
If it's running, you should be able to find a line "persist.camera.HAL3.enabled=1". Check attached screenshot for example.
Or
2. Install Camera2 Probe from playstore to check your device's camera capabilities.
